Top 10 Houston neighborhoods with the most apartments under construction

Nearly 18,200 apartment units are currently under construction across the Houston region, according to Transwestern’s second-quarter Houston multifamily report. Some Bayou City neighborhoods have more apartments under construction than others, however. Popular neighborhoods close into the city tend to have the most construction activity, but some suburban areas are also brimming with activity.

Here are the Houston neighborhoods with the most apartments under construction as of the end of the second quarter:

1.Montrose/Museum District/Midtown: 2,064 units under construction

2.Medical Center/Braes Bayou: 2,042 units

3.Downtown Houston: 1,987 units

4.Tomball/Spring: 1,879 units

5.Katy/Cinco Ranch/Waterside: 1,691 units

6.Galleria/Uptown: 1,376 units

7.Energy Corridor/CityCentre/Briar Forest: 1,176 units

8.Conroe/Montgomery: 927 units

9.Heights/Washington: 570 units

10.Woodlake/Westheimer: 387 units
